Since the acquisition of web content management company Mediasurface, and its flagship products Immediacy and Morello, in 2008, Alterian's WCM strategy has evolved to continually meet the needs of existing WCM partners and end users as well as a new wave of customers wanting to adopt Alterian's integrated marketing platform that allows them to combine online and offline customer analytics with content and multi-channel execution.
In recent months, Alterian has been executing the next stage of its strategy - to deliver innovation that leapfrogs the capabilities of todays web content management tools. In consultation with industry analysts, partners and customers, Alterian is launching a major new release of its Content Manager product.
Branded as Alterian Content Manager 7, its capabilities will be delivered in a configuration appropriate to their target audience through three editions - Corporate, Professional and Enterprise ensuring Alterian offers solutions to meet a wide range of requirements and budgets.
Capabilities will include the following, delivered to the user in an easy to use manner based on the edition chosen:
- Item level content storage and usage
- Robust APIs and developer support
- Access to an extensive range of vertical market specific modules and plug ins
- Extensive cross browser support for all user types
- Seamless integration with Alterian's award winning email capabilities accessed through the WCM interface
- Simple implementation of and access to unique content usage analysis for content authors through Alterian's new web behaviour analytics - Web Journey
- The use of social media data to inform content authors through integration with Alterians SM2 social media monitoring tool
- Real time delivery of different content to different visitors based on rules or models
Alterian Content Manager 7 will be fully released by Autumn 2010 with versions being made available earlier to specific user groups and early adopters. This new release is being built by Alterian's highly experienced Web Content Managent team - in addition Alterian is continuing to increase its R&D investment in web content management and digital marketing technologies.
The optional upgrade for current Alterian CME (formerly called Morello) clients is a very straightforward process as Alterian Content Manager v7 is built on the same technology stack as their current system. A standard set of upgrade scripts will be all that's needed. For users of CMC, Alterian will provide a free tool to help migrate content, structure and users from their current CMC environment to v7, should they wish to migrate at any point in the future. For those that wish to remain on the current version of their products, or that wish to upgrade later, this is fully backed up by Alterian with CMC6/Immediacy being supported as usual. Upgrades to v7 are completely free of license costs for clients that have an active Support agreement in place.
