Alterian Professional Services use a tried and tested Implementation methodology to ensure your project runs smoothly. This Methodology encmpasses 3 phases, Define , Build and Transition .
Define
The Definition Phase is characterised by a detailed exchange of information between you and us. We'll seek to document and understand all the needs and requirements for your project, and how our software will meet them. During Definition, we'll work closely with you to understand the scope and details of your business plan as well as the wider project goals for all technical and non-technical audiences.
We'll also work on gathering information from around your business, which includes talking to current and potential application users and objectively reviewing any literature you have to ensure it will meet your needs. All this pre-work will set a basic agenda for the next stage of implementation.
Build
This second Phase takes the Detailed Design and turns it into a realistic, working solution for you.
During this stage, we'll work with you to create "solution areas" - some of these may uncover additional requirements or functionality that differ from the original Definiton Phase. If this is the case, we'll clearly identify and document each Change Request, so you can assess the impact on both time and cost before making a final decision.
Alongside this, the Technical Architect allocated to your project will be working with relevant customer groups and suppliers to make sure the required hardware, software and infrastructure is in place to ensure that deployment can progress without delay.
Transition
Transition is the final Phase of implementation. It is the stage where your new software is deployed into your organization. At this stage, it is vital that all the elements of the various Phases dovetail together, which is where the detailed earlier preparation stages come into play.
During Transition, our project team will train and educate your new users, whilst the technical team will configure the system and Production Environment for you. In-depth User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is also performed during Transition. This is an important stage for both our team and your users, and change management is handled as a top priority.
Transition ends with the cut over to Production, when users start performing their job using the new system. If a phased deployment is being employed, Transition may consist of multiple deployments where subsets of the applications may be deployed to various geographical sites and/or business units at different times.
Production begins immediately with the production cutover. It marks the last phase of the implementation and the beginning of the system support cycle. A series of refinements and performance measurement steps is included in this final phase. It may also be appropriate to think about sending users on one of our Training courses .
