If Alterian processes data about you because it has been provided to us or added to one of our software platforms by or on behalf of an Alterian customer, we are acting as a data processor and this Privacy Policy does not apply. You should review the privacy policy of the Alterian customer that collected your personal data and added it to our software platform.

We update this Privacy Policy from time to time in response to changes in applicable laws and regulations, changes to our processing practices and to products and services we offer. Customers & Suppliers

If you are a customer, partner or supplier, we collect personal data about our key contacts at your organisation. This includes their name and business contact details including email address, telephone number, job title and company / employer’s name.

If you are a prospective customer, we collect personal data about individuals in your organisation who are likely to be interested in our products and services, including their name, business email address, business telephone number, job title and company / employer’s name.

We will share your personal data with suppliers to our business who process data on our behalf. This includes, for example, cloud service and SaaS providers. In such cases, our suppliers are data processors and may only use the data in line with our instructions and not for any other purpose.

Alterian is a global business and as such your personal data may be shared with our subsidiaries in the UK or Australia to respond to your inquiry properly, for the purposes of our relationship.

It is possible that we may be required to share your data to comply with applicable laws or with valid legal processes, such as in response to a court order or with government or law enforcement agencies.

7. International Transfers

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) and your personal data is collected in or processed by our subsidiary Alterian Software Limited, your information will be shared with Alterian Software Holdings LLC in the US and/or with Alterian Software Pty Ltd in Australia. Your information may also be transferred outside the EEA when it is shared with suppliers to our business, including cloud service and SaaS providers.

We have implemented Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission to ensure an adequate level of data protection where your personal data is transferred to countries outside the EEA including between Alterian affiliate companies.

8. How long we keep your data

We will retain your personal data for as long as it necessary for the purpose of our relationship or until you object to us processing it or withdraw your consent.

9. Your Rights

You have rights relating to your personal data, subject to local data protection laws. Depending on these laws and, in particular, if you are located in the EEA or the UK, these rights may include:

  • The right of access to your personal data and can request copies of it and information about our processing of it.
  • To rectify or add to the personal data we hold about you, if you information is incorrect or inaccurate.

  • You can ask us to restrict the use of your personal data if:
    • It is not accurate.
    • It has been used unlawfully but you do not want us to delete it.
    • We do not need it anymore, but you want us to keep it for use in legal claims; or
    • if you have already asked us to stop using your data but you are waiting to receive confirmation from us as to whether we can comply with your request.
  • In some circumstances you can compel us to erase your personal data, request a machine-readable copy of your personal data to transfer to another service provider and compel us to erase your personal data.
  • The right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing (including profiling) that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request for access is clearly unfounded or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with the request in such circumstances.
